VOLUNTEER UPDATE |
May 1, 2008 To all the Volunteers: A big thank you to everyone who attended the last two workdays (a couple of you were there 3 days) at the lagoon. The area is looking great, and we are getting numerous compliments on it. Over a three day period we planted approximately 350 plants, with 250 of those being the larger 1-3 gallon size. WOW that is a lot of holes dug, not to mention the rest of the existing plants were deadheaded back and cleaned up and a truck load of mulch was spread. All of this would not be possible without your dedication and help, again THANK YOU. Our next work day is going to be Saturday May 10th at 0800. We will be planting again, but this time it will be at the entrance signs for the park. The Botanical Gardens will supply the plants which will match the ones used on Williams boulevard. This will definitely spruce up the sign areas and add some color to them as well. We will meet at the main entrance sign off of South Grand, you can park either at the upper pond area or at the main pavilion. I hope to see you all out there. Please pass this on to your friends and neighbors. Take care Doug Reynolds # # # |
