March 28, 2005 Contact: Chris Mandelski Park Foundation Seeking Photos of Lincoln Park Springfield, IL…The Springfield Parks Foundation’s committee planning the 100th Birthday Celebration of Lincoln Park is requesting photographs and written memories of Lincoln Park. The materials will be included in an exhibit, titled 100 Years of Memories: The Rich History of Lincoln Park, to be held at the park Pavilion during the Centennial Celebration Preview Party on June 25 and open to the public on June 26. Written memoirs should be typewritten, double-spaced and may be edited for content. Please send best quality copies of photos (photos cannot be returned). Please include name and contact information with submission along with any notations of photo content, and seek prior permission, if possible, from photo subjects. Deadline for materials is April 29, 2005 and should be mailed or delivered to the Springfield Park District, Attn: LP Exhibit, 2500 South 11th Street, Springfield, IL 62703. The Park District Office is open 9-4, Monday – Friday. The committee is also raising money to fund the Lincoln Park Bridge and Pond Renovation Project. Donations may be sent to the above address. The Springfield Parks Foundation is a not-for-profit fund raising organization dedicated to enhancing the use, growth and preservation of the city’s community parks. # # # |
